Nadal Denies the Allegations of Drug Use
The French media has accused the Spaniards of resorting to usage of drugs to win medals in sports events. It has depicted a cartoon insulting the renowned Spanish tennis player Raphael Nadal and the Spanish football team that won the World Cup football event in 2010. Nadal has denied the allegations. But at the same time, a Spanish cycling hero was caught using drugs to boost his performance. Maybe, a few other findings could have been made in different sports events.
Nadal’s Performance in Tennis Has Been Exemplary
But the question is can we conclude that all the Spanish players participating in various sports events resort to drugs to win the medals? This is nothing but a far-fetched imagination. It is not supported by facts. Nadal had been playing at the highest level in tennis and winning many tournaments including grand slams regularly. He has defeated top players like Roger Federer, Andy Murray and others in various tournaments. He would have been caught if he had been using drugs in these top tournaments as drug testing is done in all the sports regularly.
Discipline Led to Spain’s Success in the World Cup Football
The Spanish team that won the World Cup Football event in 2010 was a well disciplined side captained by Iker Casilas and coached by the efficient Vincent Del Bosque. The Spanish team fought hard in each and every match. It was a fascinating tussle between Spain and Germany in the semi finals. In the finals, Spain played with determination and grit and defeated Netherlands. To say that the Spanish football team won the world cup because of drug use is a stinking comment not even worth replying.

France Is Jealous Of Spain
France has been nursing jealousy against its neighbouring country for long. The French open tennis event conducted at Roland Garros Stadium in Paris has been won six times by Nadal whereas no French player had won it in recent times. Similarly in Football, after winning the World Cup in Paris in 1998 thanks to the performance of Zenedine Zidane, the French team has done little to talk about. In 2002 World Cup football tournament held jointly by South Korea and Japan, France was defeated in the very first match by the under-fancied Senegal. France crashed out of the event at the group stage itself, failing to win even a single match. In 2006 World Cup held in Germany, France played well and reached the final. But it lost the match to Italy. Not only that, France’s reputation was also damaged because of Zidane’s on-field head bashing Mattarasi of Italy. In 2010 World Cup held in South Africa, France crashed out of the tournament in the group stage itself. Once again its reputation was tarnished because of its players indulging in a mutiny against the coach. France’s football victory in 1998 and 2006 (as runners up) was due to the performance of an immigrant from Africa namely Zidane and not due to its players of proper French origin. On the other hand, Spain’s achievements have been posted not by immigrants in Spain, but by people who are of Spanish origin. This fact is also troubling the conscience of the French people and the media.
Spain’s Stock has been Rising in the World of Sports
On the other hand, Spain’s stock in the sports world has been rising steadily ever since it won the Euro Cup football event in 2008 by defeating Germany in the finals in Vienna. Winning the World Cup football in South Africa in 2010 was another feather to its cap. Spain’s Nadal has been lifting the fame of his country in the tennis world for the last five or six years consistently.
Mudslinging By France
Therefore the French media’s comments about Spain should be ignored by the general public. Unless France shows some credible proof for its allegation, people will come to think that France is jealous of Spain and is indulging in mudslinging. Maybe, France can win a medal at least in mudslinging competition, if not in other sporting events.

Nice article. But you don't seem to have done research.
The drug abuse is an ongoing problem in all sports (not in chess though :)). The drug testing they do in tennis is sporadic, inconsistent and may not be up to date. It's possible to cheat w/o getting caught.
On top of that, ATP is known for its cover ups. High profile athletes have been let off the hook in the past. Your argument that Nadal hasn't been caught yet does not mean he isn't doing it.
Detecting PED is a challenge and stakes are high in exposing a high profile athlete. Recently, a retired former ATP player (for your information- he isn't French) came out and accused some players including Nadal that they do steroids. Outcome? No one knows where he is now!
Very nice article. Keep up with your way of attracting others with your writing.

While you present an interesting idea you don't seem to have done a huge amount of research into the mater. One suggestion would be to google 'operation puerto' and you will see for yourself the potential widespread drug use that involves spanish sport. You also failed to point out that recently Alberto Contador- one of spain's best athletes was banned by the CAS based on a clenbuterol positive while winning the tour de france
